🧸 Make-Your-Own NeeDoh
Make a squishy toy and test it. Draft: not yet checked
How it works
Flour is made of millions of tiny grains. Squeeze slowly and they slide past each other, so it squishes. Squeeze fast and they jam together, so it feels hard. Scientists call this jamming.
What you will do
- Pick a pre-filled balloon.
- Stuff it into a second balloon.
- Tie it and draw a face.
- Squeeze slowly. Then fast.
Try it at home
Ask a grown-up to help.
What you need:
Flour (or cornstarch for oobleck), balloons, a funnel, a marker.
Safety at home:
Balloon pieces are a choking risk for young children. Latex allergies. Flour is messy: do it over a tray.
